A Silver Creek man was arrested late Monday, charged with several counts of cruelty to children and disorderly conduct, reports stated.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
Timothy Steven Beam, 40, of 25 Woodruff St. is charged with felony cruelty to children under the family violence act as well as misdemeanor cruelty to children, simple battery under the family violence act, and disorderly conduct.
Beam admitted he was intoxicated and “raising hell” but did not understand why he was being jailed.
The man had been living with a family member and her three children for several months. In this incident he allegedly slapped a cell phone out of the hand of an 11-year-old child and verbally abused the family.
Beam remained in jail this morning.
