Polk Co. native Linda Liles to coordinate Gingrey's Military Academy Program
U.S. Congressman Phil Gingrey today announced that Linda Liles will serve as his Military Academy Liaison for the 11th Congressional District. Each year, Gingrey nominates students in the 11th District to the Military, Air Force, Naval, Coast Guard and Merchant Marines academies. Liles, a Polk County native, will work with school guidance counselors and local ROTC units to publicize the program and encourage interested students to apply.
"Linda's enthusiasm and passion for helping our citizens make her the perfect choice to coordinate my Military Academy program," said Gingrey. "I encourage all interested students in the 11th District to attend the Spring Academy Day and learn about our U.S. Military Academies.
Congressman Gingrey and Senators Saxby Chambliss and Johnny Isakson will host a Spring Academy Day on March 24, 2007 from 10:00 am to 11:30 am at the Naval Air Station in Marietta, Georgia. Students in grades 8 through 12 are encouraged to attend. For more information, visit Congressman Gingrey's website http://www.house.gov/gingrey or call Linda Liles at (706) 290-1776.
