Cedartown’s presence on the Internet continues to grow thanks to a new website that offers information and plenty of interaction for Cedartown residents.
The site, dedicated exclusively to Cedartown, is designed and maintained by Cedartown resident Billy Williams of 2 Real Productions and can be found at www. cedartownga.us.
While the Cedartown Standard website www.cedartownstd.com already offers current and breaking news stories, Williams’ site leans more to the interactive side of the web, offering contests and surveys in addition to news.
Currently, the site is offering prize money for the best-submitted digital photos.
“Right now I’m doing it all myself,” Williams said of the Cedartown site.
Designing websites began as a hobby for Williams, but turned into a second profession as his 2 Real Media Productions now hosts over 43 domains. His main profession finds him as system administrator at Emanuel Broadcasting’s 91.7 in Cartersville.
Online for a little over a month now, Williams said his Cedartown site generated 28,000 hits in the month of September and averaged about 325 visits per day.
While Williams may have designed the site himself, he hopes that residents from the community will contribute the content.
“Anyone can post news. The site is constantly updated by lots of folks in the community.”
Williams said that he invites everyone to take a look at the site and hopes that businesses will get behind his idea.
“We want to make it into something really nice. It’s there for the community,” he said.
