No one was injured and no citations were issued in a chain-reaction collision occurring on North Main Street in Cedartown Tuesday night, according to police.

Cedartown police said the incident happened around 5:30 p.m. when an elderly woman bumped into the car in front of her.

“Her foot slipped off the brake and onto the accelerator,” according to Cedartown Assistant Police Chief Jamie Newsome.

The car in front of the woman, in turn, bumped the car ahead.

She was taken to the hospital, Newsome said.

“The lady in the rear car that caused it was transported to the hospital for precautionary reasons,” he said.
