ATLANTA -- Republican candidate Newt Gingrich will speak to lawmakers in his old home state ahead of Georgia's primary on Super Tuesday.

The former House speaker will start Wednesday with one-on-one meetings with key supporters, including Georgia Gov. Nathan Deal.

Gingrich is then scheduled to speak before the state House of Representatives and appear at a Statehouse news conference with supporters. House Speaker David Ralston has not endorsed any candidates in the presidential primary.

Gingrich's campaign is planning rallies later in the day in Covington and Gainesville.

Gingrich represented Georgia in Congress for 20 years, including two terms as House speaker. He's campaigning across the state this week in the hope that he can win its primary and break a recent losing streak.
